Ebony Ruhland

Dr. Ebony Ruhland is an associate professor in the School of Criminal Justice at Rutgers University, Newark. Dr. Ruhland’s research explores how policies and practices within the criminal legal system impact individuals, families, and communities. In her research, Dr. Ruhland often uses community-participatory approaches. The findings from her research aim to reduce mass correctional control and surveillance, racial disparities, and collateral consequences. Dr. Ruhland received her PhD in social work from the University of Minnesota.
