Anya Lindberg

Anya Lindberg is a senior at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where she is pursuing a B.A. in the Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Justice, as well as a minor in Spanish studies. She is particularly interested in gender-focused penal reform and innovation within criminal justice and immigration policy. Anya is passionate about defending human rights, especially for incarcerated or detained individuals and their family members. She is bilingual in Spanish and has used her language abilities in several internship and volunteer positions related to these issues. She plans on attending law school and utilizing her legal education to continue her research and advocacy in this field. At CIC, she is providing translation and research assistance for the Prison Nursery Project, site-visit coordination in Latin American countries, and the planning of a parental incarceration and human rights seminar at the University of Minnesota.
