Hannah O’Connor is a senior at Macalester College, majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Legal Studies. She is a member of Macalester’s Moot Court team. She reaffirmed her passion for international law and human rights whilst studying abroad in the fall of 2022 in The Hague, which houses many global courts. Specifically, Hannah is interested in pursuing further research on the intersection of religion and homophobia, and the possible causal relationship between the two. She aims to frame her findings to better understand the wave of anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation that’s been passed within the United States within the last two years in particular. Hannah is currently a legal research intern for CIC’s Prison Nursery Project.
